Title: We Were Liars Author: E. Lockhart Source: Hardback Book Publisher: Delacorte Press Published on: May 13th 2014 A beautiful and distinguished family. A private island. A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy. A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive. A revolution. An accident. A secret. Lies upon lies. True love. The truth. Non-SpoilerOkay, you have to read this book. It was just so good. There was such a mysterious feel to it. Even the title is mysterious! This book was super suspenseful because it did go from then and now but i'm still unsure. This book left me with so many unanswered questions yet it made sense. The character development was pretty good. It wasn't the best because it was probably left like that to make this more mysterious. [Maybe a spoiler ahead] This book take place in modern day but the thing is there aren't many places mentioned in this book. If you like mystery and contemporary book then this is for you. If you also like romance contemporary then you should also read this. If you haven't read it and want to be uber spoiled then go ahead but you will regreat it so badly. Okay...this book was probably super sad, shocking, and confusing. Okay this book was so well written. It made sense but at the same time made somewhat no sense. I am really glad I knew nothing aout the book before reading it. It was so mysterious and heartbreaking almost.
Okay so I was just digging this Gat and Cady relationship. It was so frusteration but when things got worked out and they were a happy couple then it was the cutest thing ever. Mirren was annoying and the best person sometimes. I was just a little annoyed how she lied about things. She lied about her boyfriend and the Liars lied about the doughnuts, I really don't know who to trust in this book. The aunties seemed messed up and the Harris was just annoying. Tipper was braely alive and in the book. I was not liking Cady's dad and I was so skeptical about Cady's mom. I can't trust anybody! So this accident...this whole book we were trying to figure about what this accident was. I was a confused wreck and didn't figure out the lines" Then he pulled about a handgun and shot me in the check. The hole opened and my heart rolled out." So I thought that was an accident then 5 chapter later I was like "Did that actually happen or is that a metaphor?....." So after we find out about Cady drowning I thought was the accident. Then later we find out that the accident was the house was burned and Cady jumped into the ocean and kinda drwoned. GAT, MIRREN, AND JOHONNY ARE DEAD. Now i'm just like :0. WHAT THE EFF. I was reading this in the car and i'm reading then my head goes up and my mouth is open. I had to read that part over a few times to make sure I didn't read it incorrect. The Liars are dead. So I continue reading and I read the plan to burn down the house and I'm just thinking "This is a stupid plan." Okay there is no point of putting gas on all three floors when everything is going to burn anyway. So we are spreading the gas and then she realises how dumb she is to put gas in the kitchen which is the exit. She goes into the study and puts gas EVERYWHERE. The books, the ceiling, and everything else. Okay so now you have your cousins in the house and the kitchen soaked with gas. THEN YOU LIGHT THE DAMN HOUSE ON FIRE!!! DUDE. YOU FREAKIN KNEW THAT THE KITCHEN SHOULDN'T BE GASED YET AND THAT YOUR LOVER IS THE FLOOR BENEATH YOU AND YET YOU STILL LIGHT THE FIRE!! I was just so surprised on how stupid the plan was. So now everyone is dead. Great. So now i'm wondering are the rest of the Liars ghost when Cady came back for summer 17? Anyway, this book is something I will definately be re-reading. IF YOU STILL HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK AND REACHED THE ENDING THEN THIS WAS ALL A LIE. I will definataley be reading E's other books. Enjoy :) Only loyalty can truly win his heart… Gangs, organized crime and underground bare-knuckle fighting make up the world that Kieran Delaney thrives within. What began as an homage to the home town of a homesick Midwestern girl, unfolded a story of love, danger, humor, and trust. Blackness Awaits was the highly anticipated continuation of Blackness Takes Over, leading readers through the twists and turns of the unconventional world in The Blackness Series. Her third novel, Shrouded in Blackness, ventures into a criminal world where violence and vengeance reign supreme. She's currently working on her untitled fourth novel. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Norma Jeanne recently found herself relocating to the United Kingdom. Now living in Belfast, she took hold of the opportunity to kick the 9-5 job for a chance to become an author. The best part: working from her home office, she gets to spend more time with her cast of crazy characters (written and real). In her free time Norma Jeanne is a voracious reader and consumes books as readily as meals. She is a people watcher by nature and uses her experiences in life, observed or otherwise, to build the worlds and characters that thrive in her books. A believer in the strength of the human spirit, Norma Jeanne writes the stories of people that persevere when all appears to be lost. Most of the technology is based on tech we have in the real world, or that scientists are currently working on. When I first realized I was about to start writing science fiction for the first time, I went to the library and checked out a big stack of Scientific American magazine, and I started poring through the articles, trying to get ideas for what cool tech I could include in my books. I realized very quickly that there is nothing I can come up with that scientists aren't already working on - it's amazing what we're capable of! For anyone interested, I have some information on my web site about the technology in the books that is based on real life: http://www.marissameyer.com/extras/writing-playlists/ 2. Which part of Cinder/Scarlet did you enjoy writing the most? I always enjoy writing the romantic scenes the most, especially as I have a tendency to keep my couples separated for as long as possible, so that when they finally do have a chance to be together - even if just briefly! - it feels like a big breath of fresh air. Readers are not the only ones who think "Finally!" So pretty much any kissing scene is loads of fun for me to write. 3. One word to describe Kai and Cinder's relationship, Scarlet and Wolf relationship, Iko, Thorne, and Levanna. Interesting question! Let's see.... Kai + Cinder's relationship: mutual admiration (okay that's 2 words, sorry!) Scarlet and Wolf: passionate Iko: wishful Thorne: debonair Levana: determined ~Random Questions~ 4. What is your favorite sports team? The Tacoma Rainiers! They're our local Triple-A baseball team and I've been going to their games since I was a kid. It's a great way to spend a summer afternoon. (That said, I did recently get to throw the ceremonial first pitch at a Wichita Wingnuts game, so they're contenders for my favorite team now, too!) 5. If you were to bring the fictional characters from Cinder/Scarlet to life, who would you bring? Hm, I know lots of my female readers would like me to bring Kai or Thorne or Wolf to life (swoon!), but I would probably go with Peony, Cinder's younger stepsister. She deserves a life much better than she was stuck with in the series. Tore Divided Love by K.D. Excerpt He took my hands and stared at me with his emerald eyes. “I promise I won’t ever put you through that again. I was an ass. I was selfish. I’ve changed. You are what I want.” He looked around my place. “This is what I want.” God, I wanted to believe him, but I was so uncertain. I’d been down this road with him before and we didn’t have the best experience. He’d broken me so badly, but guess I had no other choice but to let him fix me. “I can’t go through that again, Braiden.” “Do you still love me?” Like he needed to ask. “I never stopped.” “I was so stupid. I love you. It took being without you to realize that. I want you, and only you, forever.” My heart was begging me to believe him while my mind still had reservations. “Please stay true to your word.” “I promise.” He wrapped his arms around my shoulders and pulled me close to him. I wanted to stay like that forever. He was my home. I felt safe even though I probably wasn’t. I wasn’t happy but I was certain that wouldn’t last. And I felt loved even though that most likely wasn’t true. About the Author I have recently released my first book, Torn-True Love, published by Rebel Ink Press.
